The Redding Achieve School (RAS) provides an alternative instructional setting for students with significant behavior concerns. It is our goal to help students facing challenges make positive changes to ensure more success in the regular school setting and into adulthood.

We are a trauma-informed campus that strives for an environment that supports success for struggling students. Students may be placed at Redding Achieve if they are expelled from their home school, if they are referred by probation, if they are referred by a school attendance review board (SARB), or by choice of a parent. Students attend an Achieve classroom until successful completion of the contract, at which time a transition meeting is held with the receiving school in order to ensure successful re-entry into the general education program.

The program tries to maintain a ratio of approximately one adult to every five students. Counseling is available on campus.

Academic instruction is delivered by use of state adopted curriculum consistent with that used in all Redding School District schools. In addition to English Language Arts and Math, students also receive instruction in social studies, science, anger management, and physical education in the Achieve classrooms. Social skills are also highlighted throughout the day in whole group, small group, and individual settings. Our ultimate goal is to help each child successfully return to a comprehensive school
