Welcome Back

Dear Redding Achieve Families,

I hope this letter finds you well and in good spirits. As we journey through the academic year, I am delighted to share with you some exciting news and updates regarding our Alternative Education Program. At Redding Achieve Community Day School, we are committed to nurturing not only the intellectual growth of our students but also the development of positive relationships that contribute to their overall well-being.

Our Alternative Education Program has always aimed to create a supportive and inclusive environment that allows students to thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. We are proud to have made several enhancements to the program to strengthen the connections between students, families, and our dedicated staff.

One of the key aspects we have focused on is the establishment of positive relationships within our Alternative Education Program. We believe that a supportive and caring environment can greatly impact a student's educational journey. Our teachers and support staff participate in on-going training to better understand the unique needs of our students and to provide them with the tailored support they require.

Here are some of the initiatives and elements we are continuing to offer:

Mentorship Program: We are continuing our partnership with Hope City mentoring,  a mentorship program that pairs students with caring mentors who provide guidance, encouragement, and a friendly ear to listen. These mentors help students set and achieve personal and academic goals.

Family Involvement: We understand the importance of a strong partnership between the school and families. We have created opportunities for families to actively participate in their child's education, with family engagement nights, information Nights on College programs such as ACE & BOLD degree paths, and open communication channels such as Dojo and School Messenger.

Social-Emotional Learning: Our curriculum includes a stronger emphasis on social-emotional learning to help students build resilience, self-awareness, and emotional intelligence. We believe these skills are vital for their overall success.

Community Building Activities: We organize various community-building events and activities throughout the year, allowing students to connect with their peers and form positive relationships outside of the classroom.

Counseling Services: Our school is continuing our partnership with Positive Approach Counseling with Counselor, Lennox Humphries. Lennox offers additional counseling services to support students who may be facing personal or emotional challenges, providing a safe space for them to talk and seek guidance.

We are confident that these initiatives will foster positive relationships and create a sense of belonging within our Alternative Education Program. We believe that when students feel supported and connected, their potential is limitless.

As parents and guardians, your role in this process is invaluable. We encourage you to maintain open lines of communication with our staff, participate in school activities, and be actively engaged in your child's educational journey. Together, we can ensure that each student in our program thrives academically and personally.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss these initiatives further, please feel free to reach out to us. We look forward to an enriching year ahead and the continued growth of our program.
Thank you for entrusting us with the education and well-being of your child.

Warm regards, Jen Severin Principal, Redding Achieve
