The Redding Achieve School (RAS) provides an alternative instructional setting for students with significant behavior concerns. It is our goal to help students facing challenges make positive changes to ensure more success in the regular school setting and into adulthood.
Our program serves students in grades K-8. The average daily attendance does not exceed sixteen students per classroom. We are a trauma-informed campus that strives for an environment that supports success for struggling students. Students may be placed at Redding Achieve if they are expelled from their home school, if they are referred by probation, if they are referred by a school attendance review board (SARB), or by choice of a parent. Students attend an Achieve classroom until successful completion of the contract, at which time a transition meeting is held with the receiving school in order to ensure successful re-entry into the general education program.
Redding Achieve School consists of one kindergarten through fifth grade room staffed with one credentialed teacher and three part-time instructional assistants, and one sixth through eighth-grade classroom staffed with one credentialed teacher and three part-time instructional assistants. The program tries to maintain a ratio of approximately one adult to every five students. Counseling is available on campus.
